ADDRESSING learner education
& wellbeing management through the strategic use of technology

Waliku, Indonesian for “my guardian,” is a Save the Children technical team that assists with digital tools for learner education and wellbeing.

We support formal and non-formal education programs to incrementally introduce digital data and analytics needed for effective service provision. With progressive digitalization of data related to learner attendance, learning outcomes, health status, and case management, ecosystem partners are better positioned to support children.

We help to create a digital nest. The purpose of a nest is often to protect one’s young. In our case, the suite of technology that we provide not only digitizes student attendance and facilitates triage and follow-up of high-risk absentees but also brings together different actors responsible for the wellbeing of children to act upon the data being collected. These actors may include teachers, parents/guardians, school administrators the Ministry of Education, local health centres, child welfare, and protection offices.

Through system optimization tailored to rural and remote contexts, Waliku provides solutions that work in any environment, including those with access, transportation, and general resource challenges.
