Waliku is supporting Save the Children Rwanda in a recently awarded Education A Child (EAC) project with an ambitious goal of zero out-of-school children (OOSC) in Rwanda. The Zero OOSC project aims for improved access to and retention in equitable primary education for all Rwandan children. The project spanning over a period of 5 years has a country wide reach reaching all provinces. Working closely with the Ministry of Education – MINEDUC -  to strengthen the School Data Management System (SDMS), Waliku will provide tools for the identification, enrollment and retention of children in primary education, and support attendance/absence management. These collaborative efforts will enable coordinated action and interventions in reducing the number of out-of-school children in Rwanda.

Our Objectives:
  • Strengthening the identification, enrollment, attendance and retention of out-of-school children at the school-level
  • Empowering communities and families to promote identification, enrollment, attendance and retention of out-of-school children; and
  • Strengthening policies, data and feedback management systems on and for out-of-school children.
  • Enroll a significant number of out-of-school children by the project's completion, with a specific target for the first year.
