Students absenteeism is a problem to many countries. School are closed during some period and when they reopen, many children who have missed a lot of school days may not return, especially if they experience new difficulties or if the existing ones have become even more severe. Particularly post-Covid when children and their families are still recovering from the impact.

Save the Children developed Catch-up Clubs (CuC) as an effort to support children in a safe return to learning. Catch-up Clubs approach integrates elements from programs that have successfully demonstrated rapid learning gains, and it builds on Save the Children’s existing expertise in community-based learning, child protection and child poverty programming.

Our Objectives:
  • To improve learning outcomes through community-based reading clubs
  • Provide a suite of digital solutions capable of enrolling, tracking and monitoring learner attendance, and reading outcomes
  • To provide Cash and Voucher Assistance to vulnerable households
