The Strategic Planning Advisors for Education and School Health in Africa (SPAESHA), as part of the MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership (MCGL) initiative, aims to collaborate with education and health ministries, along with various school health partners at the global, regional, and local levels, to enhance school health and nutrition (SHN) systems for the well-being of school-age children. Over a two-year period, the project will generate and utilize global evidence on school health.
SPAESHA's primary goal is to identify and address obstacles to the implementation of School Health Policies in Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, and Uganda by examining the different components of the School Health system and creating tailored policy strengthening plans. This effort includes field assessments involving interviews with local stakeholders and school surveys using the World Health Organization's (WHO) Global School Health Program and Policy tool, as well as observations of the school environment.
